What is Mission?

Mission is a Sci-fi/Lucha Libre film starring the legendary Mil Mascaras and written by Jeffrey Uhlmann.

Who is Mil Mascaras?

Mil Mascaras is an iconic Renaissance man known worldwide most famously as a luchador. He is one of The Big Three original stars of the Lucha Libre genre. His name is interpreted as the Man of a Thousand Masks.

What is Lucha Libre?

Lucha Libre is masked, Mexican wrestling. (Although it technically originated in Texas.)

Oh, you mean like Nacho Libre?

Eh, not exactly. Nacho Libre, starring Jack Black, was a Lucha Libre inspired parody of the original film genre. 

Wait, so it's like wrestling and a movie?

Pretty much, except there are also aliens, luchadors, missionaries, spiders, werewolves, robots, and oh yeah, did we mention wrestling?

So, what's the big deal with this film?

Mission follows the success of Jeffrey Uhlmann's previous two films with Mil Mascaras, Mil Mascaras vs. the Aztec Mummy and Academy of Doom, both of which were very successful in the festival circuit and among reviewers. Mission reaches out to a much larger, cross-cultural audience and allows the fans to get involved with the project at different stages of the production. It's written for a larger budget than many of the previous Lucha Libre films, and we plan to shoot in Puerto Rico later in 2013. Through our crowd funding campaign, fans may even have a chance to have their art work featured in the film, visit the set, or even be in the movie! The film will have an updated 50s, sci-fi comic book look and feel with minimal computer generated special effects. The fans have been waiting a long time for this movie, and we're ready to get it to them.

Glad you asked! Currently we're getting ready for our crowd funding and press campaign set to launch in early June. That's right! We need YOU to get this movie made. As it turns out, Hollywood is very enthusiastic about this film but not too financially supportive. So get ready because we're going to need all the help we can get.
